What is the Lindisfarne Festival?
Lindisfarne Festival
The Lindisfarne Festival is an annual music and arts festival in Northumberland. The first edition took place in September 2015. Around 2,000 people attended the event at Beal Farm. The line-up for the inaugural festival included Public Service Broadcasting, Craig Charles, DJ Yoda and other artists. Over the years, the event has grown significantly in scale.
The festival’s name is linked to the venue’s location: Beal Farm lies opposite Holy Island, also known as Lindisfarne. The island itself is a tidal island, so it can only be reached via the causeway during safe periods between the tides.
The Lindisfarne Music Festival is often compared to the Lytham Festival, but there are significant differences between the two events. The Lytham Festival is more akin to a large urban open-air event featuring major headliners, whereas the Lindisfarne Festival focuses on a festival weekend with on-site accommodation, a large number of smaller stages and a relaxed, outdoor atmosphere.
Where does the Lindisfarne Festival?
The Lindisfarne Festival takes place at Beal Farm in Northumberland, in the north-east of England. The farm is situated on the mainland, directly opposite Holy Island, also known as Lindisfarne. It offers views of the island and the coastline, and on a clear day, you can see as far as Bamburgh Castle. The location has become one of the festival’s main attractions.
The venue’s address is Beal Farm, Berwick upon Tweed, TD15 2PB. It is important not to confuse the festival site with Holy Island itself. Despite being called the Lindisfarne Festival, the event takes place on the mainland, not on the island.

The festival site is situated at Beal Farm, opposite Holy Island. You can view the site’s location on the map or use the coordinates 55.674012, -1.877466 to find your way.
There are several stages within the festival grounds. These include the main Shorefields stage, as well as the Viking Brewhouse, Dingle Dell, Temple, Dub Shack, Shanti Bee, The Altar and Delta City. The stages vary in format: they are designed for large-scale musical performances, rock band concerts, electronic music, reggae, folk, comedy and wellness programmes.
A map is useful for more than just finding the stages. The large site includes camping, glamping, car parks, bars and other festival areas, so it’s a good idea to check in advance where your entrance is and how far it is from your accommodation.

Information for visitors
Lindisfarne Festival Outfits
The Lindisfarne Festival is exclusively for adult visitors aged 18 and over. An age verification policy is in place at the entrance: if a visitor appears to be under 25, they may be asked to show proof of identity. This rule also applies to the campsite and all other festival areas.
The event is billed as dog-friendly. Dogs may be brought onto the site free of charge, provided they are accompanied by their owner at all times, but they are not permitted inside the music tents. An exception is made for authorised assistance dogs. Dogs must be kept under control and on a short lead (less than 1.5 m) throughout the site.

Camping
Lindisfarne Festival Camping
Standard camping is included in the price of multi-day tickets. There is no need to pay extra for it, and there is no discount for opting out of camping. There are several accommodation options on site:
- Standard Camping – standard tent pitches;
- Quiet Camping – a quieter area at the far end of the campsite;
- Glamping – individual glamping options;
- Live-In Vehicle Field – an area for campervans, motorhomes, caravans and other vehicles equipped for living in.
Quiet Camping operates on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, so the organisers advise arriving on Thursday or early on Friday. Don’t expect complete silence: the festival licence permits night-time events until 4.00 am.
A separate pass is required for vehicles. Various options are available: ‘Small Live-In Vehicle’ with a 7 × 5 m pitch for £68.25 and ‘Large Live-In Vehicle’ with a 10 × 7 m pitch for £78.75. These passes are purchased per vehicle, not per person, and do not replace festival tickets.
Glamping is organised by two companies – Hippie Chic Glamping and The Canvas Company. The cost depends on the accommodation option chosen and is paid for separately from the entry ticket.
In 2026, hot water showers were introduced at the campsite; a separate fee is charged on site for their use.

How to get there?
There are several ways to get to the festival site. Let’s look at each one in turn.
- By car. The site is located at Beal Farm, near the A1. The organisers give the postcode as TD15 2PB, but advise that, once you’ve left the A1, you should follow the road signs for the Lindisfarne Festival. Important: relying on the postcode alone may lead you to the wrong entrance to the festival site.
- By train. The nearest railway station to the festival site is Berwick-upon-Tweed, situated on the East Coast Main Line between London King’s Cross and Edinburgh. The organisers are planning a bus shuttle service from the station to the festival and back.
- By taxi. Woody’s Taxis is partnering with the festival. Lindisfarne Festival visitors are offered a 10% discount on journeys, subject to availability.
- By bus. The organisers are providing shuttle services from Berwick-upon-Tweed and will update information on the shuttles as the event approaches. It is recommended that you check the latest timetable on the official website before travelling.
The festival itself is located approximately 50 miles north of Newcastle, 8 miles south of Berwick-upon-Tweed and approximately 65 miles south of Edinburgh.
Parking
Parking is not included in the festival ticket price – a separate parking pass costing £31.50 is required for each vehicle. The organisers advise booking parking in advance: it is cheaper if purchased in advance, whereas paying on arrival is more expensive and subject to availability. It’s not a long walk from the car park to the campsite – depending on your specific pitch, the walk takes approximately 2 to 10 minutes.
