History

A little later, drummer Iain Mathews joined the band.

The famous four had known each other since early childhood and graduated from the same school. According to the musicians themselves, they knew they would be involved in music from the moment they were born. The decision to form a band was made just before graduation, when Sergio Pizzorno played one of his songs to his friends. The young men immediately appreciated the sad lyrics and original style, and immediately asked the musician if he had any other songs in his repertoire. As it turned out, he did, but the modest young man had not shared them and did not consider the lyrics to be very good. Thus began the story of Kasabian, which is still making headlines today.

2010 and 2014 were the most memorable and successful years for the band. Kasabian won the Q Awards for ‘Best Band of the Year’ and ‘Best Live Act.’

When was Kasabian formed?

The band began in 1997. The founders of the rock band were school friends Tom, Sergio and Chris, who decided to try their hand at music and formed Saracuse. The musicians rehearsed at Bedrock Studio in the British town of Leicester.

A little later, Chris Karloff joined the band, and it was he who helped the novice musicians develop their own style and sound. The band took the name Kasabian after signing a contract with the BMG label. Incidentally, success did not come immediately for the band. Their debut album was only recorded in 2004, when Jim Abbiss became their producer. The young guys secluded themselves on a farm and recorded their single Club Foot, which brought them popularity and became the soundtrack to several well-known films.

Group members

The star-studded band has changed its line-up several times, but there are some permanent members in the team. Sergio Pizzorno and Chris Edwards have been with the band since its inception. The names Sergio Pizzorno, Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews, Tom Meighan and Chris Carloff are as well known to alternative rock fans as their popular hits.

Members of kasabian

  • Sergio Pizzorno is one of the founders of the legendary band Kasabian, where he still plays today. He became interested in music at an early age and always dreamed of becoming famous. • Tim Carter is the drummer of the band since 2021. He loves writing lyrics and has been into music since childhood. Nothing is known about Tim's personal life.

Former members

The line-up of Kasabian has changed over the years. Let's take a closer look at the former members:

  • Tom Meighan is one of the most prominent members of Kasabian, its founder and singer. He left the band in 2020 amid unpleasant news about his inappropriate behaviour towards his girlfriend. The press learned that Tom had repeatedly resorted to domestic violence. Whether it was a coincidence or not, it was during this period that the singer's departure from the band was announced. It is worth noting that Meighan played a significant role in the band. Here is what Sergio Pizzorno had to say about Tom:

By the time I met him, Tom was already a local celebrity. He was the most unusual guy in the neighbourhood. He had a spark of special energy: the kind of person who, as soon as he walks into a room, electrifies everyone with his presence alone.

  • Chris Karloff, guitarist, bassist and keyboardist, left the band in 2006 due to creative differences. This happened during the recording of their second album, Empire. In 2013, information appeared on the internet that he was trying his hand at a new project. In September, he released an album called Desensitised with the band Black Onassis. Today, little is known about Chris Karloff — he lives and works in New York, often attends concerts and is still passionate about music. Virtually nothing is known about the former member's personal life.
